The Boulder World Cup is coming back to Bressanone!

It’s been in the air for a few weeks, now it’s official: the International Climbing Federation (IFSC) has confirmed another leg of the Boulder World Cup in South Tyrol.

In the recently published World Cup calendar, the competition in Bressanone is entered for 9, 10 and 11 June 2023. “We still can’t believe that the climbing stadion Vertikale will once again be home to the international climbing elite,” say the organisers Ralf Preindl, Alexandra Ladurner and Günther Meraner happily. In June, a Boulder World Cup took place in Bressanone for the first time, around 200 athletes from 34 nations were at the start in Bressanone – and were thrilled by the facility and the good organisation. “For this year’s edition, we only had 3 months to organise the event on an international level – a Herculean task. Now we can already start with the first preparations,” said Preindl. Even though there was only positive feedback on the event in June, the organisers set themselves high standards for the coming edition. It should once again be a unique competition – for spectators, for athletes and also for the organisation. The Alpenverein of Southtyrol and the town of Bressanone have already proven that they are capable of putting on such a high-level sporting event. “Now we have to maintain this level and even improve it – with motivation, know-how and passion,” says Alexandra Ladurner. In the meantime, climbing fans can mark the second weekend of June 2023 in their calendars, when it will once again be a matter of cheering on the best boulderers in the world.
